There is much to be learned from the aftermath of the aberrant sociopath, for imprinted within every crime lies his distinct signature. Every serial killer, whether inadvertently or not, leaves a telltale sign indicative of his particular malaise, and profilers use this as a means to study the psychology and Modus Operandi of a killer-at-large. There is a great deal of artistic expression, if I may call it that, that goes into a killer's presentation, and in nearly ALL of these types of photos, the killer has posed/re-positioned the body of the victim as he wants it to be seen/discovered. The crime scene photographer is also an 'artist' of sorts, as he or she has done their best to capture the feel of the killer's vision:
